Pier View Market Opens May 2011

Local farmer’s market organizer Shelly Yorgesen will open up the Pier View Market at Snake River Landing starting Saturday, May 7, 2011. The market will take place near The Pier at Snake River Landing every Saturday from May 7 until October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This new market is the second market operated by the Yorgesen family, joining the Sunset Market at the Grand Teton Mall, now moved to Friday evenings 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  May 13 to Sept 30, 2011.

Pier View Market, created by the Yorgesen family and their partner Mark Andrews, will be a unique family-focused market that will deliver fresh produce, artisan gifts and entertainment for children and adults alike. “We believe that our market offers something very complimentary to the ambiance of Snake River Landing and will be the perfect event to bring your family to every Saturday,” says Yorgesen.  The Market will have a ‘Farmer’s Market Street,’  where you can find meats, eggs, cheese, dairy, produce etc., an ‘Artisan Street,’ for crafters of all types,  a ‘Commercial Street’  where business are welcome to come advertise and sell all types of commercial goods and of course a ‘Food court’ serving local fare.

The market’s primary goal is to support local farmers and small businesses throughout southeast Idaho.  “As a small business owner myself, I know the power of building brand awareness and a strong customer base through market participation. The market organizers and vendors looked at several locations around Idaho Falls before choosing Snake River Landing. “I had attended several community events hosted by Snake River Landing and thought it was the ideal venue for a farmer’s market. When we first began looking into creating a new market, we all agreed that Snake River Landing provided the right ambiance and a beautiful location for our vendors and guests,” continues Yorgesen.
